Aircraft & Part Sales Policy
This policy applies when you publish an aircraft listing or a parts pack / offered spare on the RCSpotter Sales Board. By checking the policy box on publish, you accept these rules.
1. RCSpotter only introduces pilots
RCSpotter is a notice board and contact bridge. We are not the seller, buyer, broker, auctioneer, escrow, courier, or insurer. We do not take a percentage of any sale. The deal — price, payment, handover, shipping, risk, and local law — is solely between the two pilots.
2. No liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, RCSpotter has no responsibility for failed deals, misdescription, defects, injury, stolen or illegal goods, non-payment, customs, intellectual property, or disputes between users. Listings are hobby introductions, not consumer shop offers from RCSpotter. You buy and sell at your own risk.
3. Club gate (list and buy)
Only active members of a verified club may list aircraft or parts packs, and may show interest or ask to connect. This is intentional: we designed the board for real club pilots, not shops. Membership does not guarantee honesty. We may still remove listings and limit accounts.
4. Why fees exist
Flat board fees (€2 per aircraft listing; €2 per parts pack of up to five live offers) help fund hosting, photos, messaging/intro tools, and moderation, and make spam costly. Fees are not a sale commission and are generally non-refundable if you cancel early or the item does not sell. Listing windows are typically 60 days as described on the guide page.
5. Aircraft listings (Hangar lock)
- Aircraft may be listed only from your Hangar.
- Going live locks Hangar edits, Parts on that airframe, and preflight saves for that model for the listing window; the public ad is a frozen lot.
- You select which allocated / spec-sheet items are included. Radios and similar shared gear are optional and off by default unless you include them.
- Items excluded from the lot may move to Spare while linked to the listing. Allocating them away permanently removes them from the listed lot after a clear warning.
- Ending a listing unsold always asks whether to restore sale-linked spares onto the aircraft or keep them as Spare.
- Unlocking or re-listing after cancel/expire requires a new fee when you publish again.
6. Parts packs
A paid pack allows up to five live offered parts for the pack window. Further live offers beyond each pack of five start another pack (new fee), up to ten packs live (fifty parts). Fitted parts included in an aircraft Sales Board lot belong to that aircraft listing and must not be double-listed as separate pack items. Browse live parts on Sales Board → Parts; manage your drafts and live offers under My Part Sales.
7. Required listing facts
Each listing needs a price mode (fixed, negotiable with optional amount, make an offer, or free), condition, handover preference (pickup only, shipping with buyer paying costs, or both), and at least one photo (maximum ten). Aircraft may optionally offer a seller demo flight at an agreed field — that is the seller’s statement only, not an RCSpotter airworthiness check.
8. Your content and conduct
You must own or have rights to text and photos. No illegal goods, no impersonation, no fake shopfronts. You confirm included parts and description are accurate. We may remove abusive or unlawful listings. Report tools exist; use them in good faith.
9. Abuse prevention (best effort)
Club gates, fees, caps, photo requirements, frozen lots, reports, and removals are how we try to limit shops and spam. These measures are best effort. They do not create a duty to verify every user or item, and they do not make RCSpotter liable if abuse still occurs.
10. Acceptance
You must accept this policy on every new aircraft listing or parts-pack publish. Continuing to use the Sales Board after updates means you accept the current version posted here.
11. Abuse, takedown, and reporting
Listings and sales chat must stay suitable for a club hobby board. Offensive, sexual, hateful, illegal, harassing, or otherwise inappropriate text or photos; spam and fake shops; scams and impersonation; and weaponizing Report are abuse. We may take the ad down with no fee refund. Depending how bad it is, platform staff may warn or ban the account. Report tools are for good-faith use — serial false reports may mute reporting or lead to the same warn/ban path. Moderation is best effort.
